Pros: It's great for under the TV and I love the way it auto-switches to TV sound when the TV is turned on. Cons: It's crazy expensive. I also have a Sonos Beam and I don't really see how the Playbase sounds any better. The Beam sounds just as good, is far less expensive, has the same TV sound-switching feature, and the same connectivity for a subwoofer and satellites. Honestly, the only difference I can detect between the Playbase and Beam is the price and size.

Well after a long time without hearing this speaker I came off the hip and paid full retail for it. Reason is I have 11 other SONOS speakers. I forgot it's NOT running through my AV receiver so expect nothing more than louder TV sound. I have 2 P1's connected as surrounds but no big deal. My old analog Polk's and Klipsch are in a whole other league. It's sounds OK as well when playing music but not $732 good. Had trouble getting my LG OLED magic remote to learn controls but after some interweb research I got it. Apparently lots of folks having trouble with all kinds of remote learning. If you're on the fence and you have a SONOS system, opt for the Beam, half the price and my dear friend says sounds good as well, plus it's SMART...just my .02¢

If you have the correct space/location for this speaker to sit, and you are just looking for really solid "soundbar" level quality of sound, this product is solid. Like with all sonos products, the lack of bluetooth support as an input reduces the versatility of this product slightly. But not terrible. Of course like with any Sonos product it can be enhanced (especially for audio-only out put like music or podcast) if you have other Sonos speakers too. You can pair it and use like any basic Sonos speaker. Only difference is that it can also take optical audio from TV and work as a soundbar.

The sound has has very good sound, but needs the subwoofer for bass. The volume is not earth shattering, but the sound quality is exceptional. It is convenient and ease to use...if I can make it work, anyone can. I think it is worth the money and would buy it again. Remember you use your phone to control many of the functions.

I'm a big fan of Sonos. No wires and sound quality is good on all their products. Sound bar is expensive when compared to other soundbars, but sound is exceptional and setup is as easy as I have ever experienced. My tv did not have an optical out so I had to use a 3rd party converter box. It was $18 and worked perfectly from Amazon. Software interface was easy and the soundbar even found my universal remote and went thru a simple setup so I don't have another remote. I've only had this working for a week or so, but very happy with it.
