This movie adaptation of Peter Shaffer's play, Amadeus, is an excellent movie, if not entirely historically accurate. The music of Mozart and Antonio Salieri, among others, is outstanding, as well as the sets and costumes. It won best picture, among other Oscars, the year it came out. It depicts the highlights of Mozart's last years, in Vienna. Highly recommend.

This movie is one of my favorites but I have a huge bias considering I love music themed films. It has a good sense of humor, everything from mozart's obnoxious laugh to some comical scenes only musically inclined people will giggle at (I thought they were hillarious). As to the accuracy of the movie historically speaking, the music sounded very authentic to me (nothing made up in that department) but as how the real story unfolded, I have to be honest Im not very sure about that Id have to make some in depth research to be able to make conclusions. I was caught by surprise with the movie's ending as it did not end in what I was expecting (Mozart's death scene) and whether or not Salieri was indeed Mozart's murderer which brought mixed feelings. I still enjoyed the movie quite a bit so I gave it a 5.Read full review
