Bogen / Manfrotto 3249 / 680 with the 234 / 3229 Tilt Head QR. THIS is a GREAT PRO Monopod. I've used it with Large Telephoto and Zoom lenses that have the built in "L" bracket such as the 200-400, 400 f2.8, 500 f4, 600 f4 AFS with my Nikon DSLR. The 234RC Quick Release Head is perfect, it has the adjustable friction knob, so you can get the tilt action adjusted to fit your style of shooting. This monopod is very light, yet very secure and stable. The quick lever locks allow you to adjust the height quickly and the rubber foot is great for almost every surface I have used it on. Bogen / Manfrotto makes Very High Quality products that don't cost an arm & a leg. I HIGHLY recommend this monopod and head combo for anyone that is thinking about a monopod purchase.

As expected the Manfrotto 680B mono pod is very high quality. I bought this to replace a TargusTG-MP6710. While the Targus is much lighter and far less expensive it doesn't have the near the strength of the Manfrotto. The 680B is very rigid even when fully extended. The locks lock solidly. The mounting plate is reasonably large providing a stable surface for your camera. The 680B has both a 1/4" and a 3/8" mounting screw, the 3/8" cleverly can be pushed down to reveal the 1/4" screw. Nothing to lose! I have no regrets at all buying the Manfrotto!

As a freelance camera operator, or "shooter", I am often called upon to shoot reality television using small DV/P2 cameras. These cameras are nifty in that they are so small, but they also present challenges in handling. Even though they have hand straps on them, they are far too bulky to operate hand-held for an entire day. I recently worked a reality shoot for MTV on which the other shooter used a similar monopod equipped with a small fluid head. He told me that he picked up that method from another shooter who told him that it "would change the way you work". So, I adopted that technique and am glad that I did so. I've been shooting for over two decades and this is my first monopod! I wish I'd known it would be so useful for video years ago! Now, I see people using them everywhere -- usually with tiny cameras, but the pod certainly makes it easier to carry the camera around when it has an LED panel on-board. I expect to trick out a camera rig soon, and the pod will definitely make my shooting days go much easier on my forearms and shoulders!Read full review
Professional monopod is solid, easy to adjust quickly. The swivel head with quick release plate was the bonus that made me choose this item. Quick release helps me change lenses quickly (bought a second plate). The swivel head will help me when I'm shooting video,

FANTASTIC for my heavy DSLR with battery grip, L-bracket and 18-270 lens. The big grip makes handling much more secure, the extended length is perfect, the collapsed length allows hooking the tip in my belt for quick shots. Plus, the padded grip is just right for resting the pod and camera over a shoulder when walking (I use a Swiss Arca clamp for absolute solidity and security). The smallest tube is plenty beefy for pro abuse, and allows fast height adjustments at the top tube. The clamps are adjustable too. All-in-all SUPER! I'm buying another as a Christmas gift for my son.
It is not that the product is better than I expected, its that I can't believe I waited so long to buy one. It is absolutely a benefit and easy to use. The only thing missing is a way to attach a foot to the bottom. With a female threaded end an optional 3 legged foot could be added giving more support if needed. I own several Manfrotto tripods and this is a great addition.

I shoot sports professionally, so I have some very long and heavy lenses that need support, but tripods are too cumbersome. Not only is this monopod heavy duty, the ball head allows me to change from horizontal to vertical in an instant. I can adjust the tension on the ball head to allow easy movement of the camera, or lock it firmly into place. Solid, lightweight, have nothing but praise for this monopod.

The monopod works fantastically! I enjoy using it with my setup for longer shooting days when the lenses get too heavy.

Unfortunately, the attaching screw is the wrong size for a camcorder.

Manfrotto is the best monopod for the money out there! High qualty, sturdy and can be used as a beating stick in a pinch!
