If Mozart had another 15 years of composing, he would have ruined the 19th century for a lot of lesser composers, as he would have consumed most all of the ideas and brought the evolution of forms to unimaginable heights.. This complete works of Mozart is well made and well performed, so it is a safe bet this is a worthy representation of the composer's body of work. With that in mind, exploring everything the composer has created, that is of what remains extant, will bring the listener to a deeper and more exhilarating perception, of just how profound and significant this artist for all time truly is. If you are listening to Mozart, your time and life is excellently used.

I bought this same set in 2006, and paid a lot more than today's asking price, but I am glad I did so. I agree with the other reviewer who said that 40 years ago, the complete Mozart would have cost many times more, perhaps upward of $1,000! My only suggestion would be to supplement this set with the complete Symphonies by Karl Böhm with the Berlin Philharmonic (DG, 10 CDs) and the operas: Don Giovanni, Cosi fan tutte, The Marriage of Figaro, La Clemens's do. Tito, Idomeneo, Abduction from the Seraglio, The Magic Flute, and The Impressario, in DG Böhm conducted recordings. The Symphonies and operas presented here use (mostly) period instruments, while Böhm conducted a modern symphony orchestra. If you don't need big name recording artists, and want an encyclopedia of Mozart's works, this is a good investment. 2/27/2018. TuesdayRead full review

My advice is: Go for it while you can! Go for it while you can! I’d been waiting for the release date some time when this complete Mozart first came out. I bought this Brilliant Classics set instantly, also the Bach, Beethoven, Haydn, Schubert and Tchaikovsky in turn, all bought through Ebay! All from overseas, most via one site in Germany specialising apparently in Classical as well as popular boxed sets. My excitement when each big glorious box arrived from Germany, mostly left quietly on my front porch by Australia Post, was indescribable! It's of course an indulgence indeed to have available as part of one’s life access to so much excellence in music. I was still working my way through them in my own order when from one second to the next a major stroke damaged me, eventually putting me into an ACF in Adelaide Australia. I don't have here the storage space in my room that I had at home. All my boxed sets are in a storage unit for me, but I’ve only been able to get there once and miss having my CDs by me dearly. Especially loaded as they were into my Pioneer 301 CD changer, the absolute pinnacle of analog technology. Not room for it here either. I feel surely my brain cells are fitter for all my time spent listening to top class music rather than for instance playing Sudoku, though that wasn’t my reason for doing it. Sheer love of outstanding music did that. My advice is: Go for it while you can! Read full review

If this set had been issued 40 years ago, I would have saved thousands of dollars. All that Mozart ever wrote for (177 CD's, I think) for practically nothing. Simply amazing. And the recordings are more than fine except for a few over-fussy so called experts. Brilliant Classics must be congratulated, not just for this, but for many other incredible sets.
From what I've listened to so far, very nice in terms of recording quality, performances and completeness.
