The ad stated new but this was an open box and gave me hesitation; however, the seller stated they had to open the box to make sure everything worked (ran testing) and that all of the contents were in the box. It does appear new and everything that I should have received was, in fact, in the box. All things considered I am very happy with the purchase.

    Fantastic Unit

    The Surround Sound is awesome, scenes where there are gunfire it sounds like bullets are bouncing off the ceiling. Unit is manufactured in Malaysia, which in my view is WAY better than being made in china as far as quality & reliability.

    Impressive Build, Lacking Sound Quality

    This series is the best quality build i have seen from any brand. Remote is easy, perfect and backlit. On screen setup was very easy to program and understand. But then i spent days trying to get the sound right. It is a dull sound, no crisp vibrant clear tones like my $350 Sony i was replacing. Without a perfect sound i have no use for this receiver. I returned it. Yamaha, you can do better.

    Go Yamaha!

    I broke my foot several weeks ago and needed a cheer me up, Yamaha did just that! Setup was easy and the sound is great still learning what all it can do. I had to order a new remote and it is awesome. Only gripe was the case was scratched up but I cant see it in the cabinet.

    I love this unit and would highly recommend it to anyone looking for a great receiver. It has met all my expectations and more. If you can still find it available i would buy one as soon as possible as it is a few years old and it's getting harder to find.
