I enjoyed listening to this new album by the Magnetic Fields, it was short but sweet and fairly distinctive from their previous work. If you're a fan of the Magnetic Fields, The Gothic Archies, The Future Bible Heroes, The 6ths, Stephen Merritt, or any other side projects, then you'll love this new album. With the opening track "Three-Way," (which are the only words to the song) the tone is set for a fun and clever album. "California Girls" is a song that's written against said subjects, but despite its negative stance, it remains a clever and well written song.
Not as good as the critics say. Maybe better than "I", but nowhere near as good as "Get Lost" or "69".
