Let's face it, Moe Howard, Curly Howard and Larry Fine were on a ROLL in the late '30s...by 1937, they were well established as the greatest slapstick comedians of all time, and, well, people sure needed some laughs. The Great Depression was in full swing with no sign of let-up, so folks who could scrape up the admission charge to get in the theaters were looking for some good ol' escapism to help them forget their troubles. Sure, there were some great movies coming from Hollywood during those years, but those hilarious short subject films injected even more feel-good serum into the mix, and everyone was able to laugh for a little while, at least. These Stooge shorts from 1937-39 contain some of the funniest material ever done by Howard, Fine and Howard. My all-time ... As a huge Stooge fan, I've been waiting for a set like this for years! Columbia's previous release of the Stooges on DVD are nothing compared to this. This set has them all organized from year to year as they were origionally made, not a mix match of episodes thrown on a disc like the older releases. The set is great! I just hope Columbia doesn't stop at the end of the Curly era and continues the box sets with the Shemp's! AAAA+++++++++++As a huge Stooge fan, I've been waiting for a set like this for years!
