Nine o'clock on Monday morning, August 18, 1969: while the work force was starting the day, Jimi Hendrix was taking the stage at Woodstock. While hundreds of thousands had already left, 25,000 people remained to see this incredible performance. Hendrix, along with drummer Mitch Mitchell and bassist Billy Cox, offered masterly renditions of the songs of the recently disbanded Experience ("Hey Joe," "Foxey Lady"), and gave a preview of the blues-based Band of Gypsys ("Izabella," "Hear My Train A Comin'"), as well as Jimi's era-defining rendition of "The Star Spangled Banner." Though the weekend had witnessed some landmark performances by other great artists, this performance from Hendrix is regarded by many as the defining moment in a festival ripe with defining moments.

    Jimi Hendrix Live at Woodstock DVD

    This is a great DVD from start to finish it has great picture quality and sound quality even though it was recorded almost 50 years ago. If you like Rock n Roll then you have to watch the master Jimi Hendrix at the top of his game. Some of the guitar solo's are mind blowing for their time. Their is not one artist alive today with the magical artistic powers of Hendrix.

    This is one of the most awesome concert DVDs I have bought or came across in a long time !!! this show's Jimi like I have never seen him perform a show before I could go on and on telling you how much I loved watching him play that guitar and make that sweet, sweet sound but I have to leave something for you all in surprise !!! the camera shots are awesome, the picture is more clear than I thought It would be the beginning of the DVD gives you some history of Hendrix and the band and the day'z leading up to the show, interviews with band members and whatnot. Truth is this is a DVD with Hendrix you can and will enjoy time and time again !!! I wish there had been more camera recorders back in the day's that could capture the concerts and music moments all these great guitarist imprinted on ...

    Jimi's greatest and most famous performance.

    Most people that know anything about Jimi Hendrix know that he stole the show at Woodstock, and rightfully so. This is his most amazing performance. "Fire" is a great, fun song as is "Izabella." "Red House" is very heartfelt and is often imitated, never duplicated by many, many bands. A classic! "Voodoo Child" is another great song and just like "Purple Haze" is one of his catchiest tunes. "The Star Spangled Banner" is Jimi's heavily-distorted, ultra-cool rendition of the American national anthem. One of the most famous things he ever did. "Woodstock Improvisation" cannot be fully expressed by words. It is a great instumental track that has to be heard to be appreciated. Everything about this cd is great, but I have to say that the video is better. You get to see the man in action, ...

    Reall felt like I was there live with Hendrix.

    It was like being right there on the stage watching Hendrix. I learned so much about his playing, his style, and it was like he was forging or wrestling sounds. You could even see him sending cues to this new band that he had mostly just put together. Talk about being there! I never saw that from a concert floor. I've only been playing the Stratocaster for a couple years and this performance became personalized for me owing to the tones he was getting. Amazing innovative artist. I always wanted to see Hendrix live. The few blemishes made it real and honest compared with the super slick, and distant, productions of later artists I have come to expect. Standing ovation from me!!!!! I have yet to watch the second disk.

    Ray Price on the DVD and CD can't find this at the store

    You finally get to see Jimmy Hendrix at his best 53 years later which never made it to the film only a couple of songs made it to the film now you get the whole thing
