As widely reported on the internet, the Hoya HD circular polarizing filter is well made and does not distort the image as may occur with less reputable or unknown name brands. This is the one filter that professionals and hobbyists recommend to digital photographers. It is used by rotating the filter while looking at the image through the viewfinder. The ring turns smoothly. It is well constructed. I do not expect it to fall apart as reported with other filters. Like polarizing sunglasses, it reduces light reflections and enhances blue sky and green landscapes. This cannot be duplicated using software like Photoshop. It is my first filter, so I do not have experience with others for comparison. Hoya recently updated this filter at twice the cost. For my first venture, I went with this model and find no fault with a Canon 24-70 mm f2.8 L2. I will be getting a step down ring to use it with my other lenses and expect the same performance.Read full review
As an experienced wildlife filmmaker (Doron - not Nava) I've used several polarizing filters of different brands. They all performed very good. However - this Hoya filter has an amazing overall quality! I can't explain how it differs from others, but I feel I'm using the top of the top filter. I'm very pleased with my choice: it provides me a full comfidence of getting the best results in my critical quality images, especially landscapes and waterscapes of beautiful Israel.
Great optics and lightweight filter. No color cast. True value for money product.

Works great on my Zeiss 21mm lens, fairly low profile but still allows me to attach the lens cover. Bought because of the high praise it received on other reviews.
