  • Incredible Performances, Tragic Plot

    This made-for-tv movie should have been SHOWERED with Emmy Awards. A bit too serious and sobering for most, this tragic tale of a Viet-Nam War vet in prison, awaiting execution, and the woman who still cares for him after he was her first love in High School, boasts performances that were simply incredible. David Strathairn plays the lead character, on Death Row. He is a victim of Post Traumatic Stress Syndrome - and he is truly terrified of his execution to come. I don't know where some actors (NOT MANY) get their depth of perception from, but he is simply astonishing in this role. He is one of our best actors, and is most usually underrated. He is simply wonderful, and so convincing it's almost scary. Sissy Spacek as the married lady who USED to love Strathairn's character, reads ...
