Connie Francis Used Only For Her Box Office Draw
This movie was an attempt to cash in on the hugely popular "Where The Boys Are". Connie Francis' enormous record sales kept the record and movie division of MGM afloat. It was only natural to put her in the movies. Given a smaller role in the smash "Where The Boys Are", was a bit misleading. Most theater marquees had her listed as the star because of her incredible popularity and drawing power. She gave a good performance. She is not treated as well in "Follow The Boys", despite top billing. She is at her best when she sings and unfortunately, is only give this opportunity twice. The movie is mindless and filled with subplots. Ms. Francis has been quoted "A movie in search of a plot" and "The biggest disaster since Pearl Harbor where the ... Only old pro Janis Paige comes off believable in this tired story of women or "Sea Gals" chasing after their men from port to port. If you are a fan of the largest selling female in history, skip this one and buy her next movie "Looking For Love", the only one of her four movies to showcase her talents. Her rendition of the hit title song is terrific.

amazing movie great classic!!
I had loved Connie Francis since I was a little girl and I have the original LP of this movie soundtrack. Having now the movie had just made this experience amazing in my life. The movie is a delightful one with everything from romance to funny scenes.
