    First class headphones

    I have been an audiophile for over 40 years and have owned over 75 headphones. 4 of these have been in the same price range at around $1600. I have had several pair of Denon AH-D9200's and they are my favorite headphone of all.. Smooth and detailed and sound good with all types of music. They make me want to keep listening for hours which is a great compliment! They are my reference headphones and highly recommended!

    The All-rounder wooden closed-back king!

    So, I have owned the E-MU Teak as well and still own the super high-end Audio-Technica W3000ANV. These are, in my humble opinion, better all-rounders. The E-MU is horribly constructed and their customer service is terrible, but at $400 to $500 that is to be expected. They also sound too uneven. The AT W3000ANV is far superior to the E-MU, as it should be at its price point. ON Jazz and classical, the W3000ANV has slightly more air and bite in the treble section than the D9200. However, in terms of genre compatibility the D9200 comes out ahead and it is more comfortable to boot. I had to spend big money to buy better ear pads and even change the fixed cabling on the W3000ANV, with the D9200, it was just plug and play, everything just works great out of the box. There can be no higher ...

    TOTL headphones!

    I've owned various Denon and THX headphone models but nothing comes close to the 9200. Bass is firm but controlled with great detail in mid & highs. Not fatiguing, comfortable. Only slight drawback would be that the leather pads tends to get warm/hot with longer listening sessions. Highly recommended.

    Denon D9200 Best Bang for the Buck

    Amazing cans. Maybe the best bang for the buck out there in the higher end. Warm. Great resolution. Big soundstage. Nice balance from lows to highs. Fairly comfortable. Nice build
