Perfect OEM replacement
This was a replacement for the same drive that made an awful ricochet clicking noise in a Dell laptop. The factory drive was made in China, so I specifically sought out one made elsewhere. The one I purchased was from the Philippines and, once cloned, fired right up in the laptop and have had no issues whatsoever. Great drive, lots of space and very quiet. A lot of these have been swapped for solid state drives by computer stores or savvy individuals so many sellers have dozens of drives for sale for dirt cheap, some never even turned on from the factory. A great proven drive, at a great price. A great combination.
I bought this little hard drive, adnd I put it into an external drive case and made myself an external hard drive to storesome important files and things on. I spent $29 on this drive and $5 for an external drive enclosure, and I have myself a 500 GB external drive for $34. A preassembled Toshiba, Western Digital, or Seagate would cost you about $50. So, I feel like I came out pretty good. The drive works great. I put it into a USB 3.0 enclosure, and it has really great transfer speeds, and 500 GB will hold a lot of data. Just installed this Toshiba MQ01ABF050 to expand storage on a new Aspire 5 laptop. Computer recognized it just fine, and it is extremely quiet. I could not hear it spinning when the computer recognized it. I am very impressed. Cannot say for durability, as I just put it in, but if it's anything like my old Toshiba laptop (that's still working) it will be fine long-term. Recommend.
