The box looked newer than the handset. phone was already registered to a different base and battery would not charge. Lucky for the seller, I only needed it for parts and was able to reset the handset to factory settings (including clearing the pre registration). seller got the model and description right but left out the USED part in the condition.

    I like a phone that rings

    The phone works as expected. I would recommend this model [VOE] for anyone wanting to connected a 2554 wall phone to an analog terminal adapter (ATA). These adapters do not provide as much ringing voltage as telephone company land lines do. As a result [VBA] models of the 2554 wall phone, may not ring. This VOE model rings just fine. Richard

    Just like the one I used to have....

    I really like this phone. It is just like the one I had when I was growing up with exception to it being lighter in weight. I love the ringer volume control. I feel when it is in the most "loud" position it definitely rings loud enough for my 2 bdrm condo. Infact it rings just as loud as the one I had in my house growing up. I was concerned that the ear piece sound was too low, but it wasnt. It was crisp and clear, no staining to hear.

    great product! worth every penny

    i puchased this phone for my aunt whois an older person and expressed a dislike for for the newer cordless phones and the like,seeing how the area she lives in did experienc a number of power outages last year which left her without any phone service until power was restored i understood. this phone also offered a amplifier in the reciever that proved to be a plus,remember she is older. i would buy another unit like this in a heart beat.

    Cortelco Black Wall Telephone #2554

    Received the item and it did not work . I thought because it was a new item I would have it checked out. The phone technician said it was not worth fixing because someone had cut the wires inside the phone.
