I purchased this drill to replace an earlier 12 volt 3/8" Panasonic that I used since 1992. This new model with a 1/2" capacity, is more ergonomic, lighter, smaller, and better balanced than the previous model. This 12 volt drill offers plenty of torque for any task I put it to and is lighter weight than my 19.2 volt (other maker) model. The chuck is the best I could find on any drill, and the clutch is accurate as well. This drill was sold with the 3.5 amp hour NMHI batteries and universal charger. These batteries are great! They last much longer than the prior 2 amp and provide a more powerful tool. While most builders have moved to higher voltage tools, I find that 12 volts is enough for most building and repair tasks around the home.
