    Buy from Lenovo unless you enjoy arts and crafts

    I bought this part as a replacement for the Mylar-coated touchpad Lenovo ships the T480s with. There is no way of knowing how legitimate this part is, but it fit into the computer as expected and works fine. The touchpad proper (the glass and PCB) is held into the computer with a metal bracket that acts as a mounting mechanism and provides the click action. This bracket wasn't fastened to the PCB tightly enough, so even when I installed the touchpad properly the glass surface would shift back and forth. I didn't want to return the part and then wait for another, so I used some spare packing foam and scotch tape to hold the bracket in place against the PCB. Just buy the real part from Lenovo.
