These are difficult to beat for the money, used or new it is an excellent product. If you are using it in a laptop, it WILL extend your battery life greatly if you have a new battery. (Li-Ion just...they don't do so well after a year of being used, simple scientific fact) It is a fast drive 'middle of the road' as far as SSDs go, the read/write speeds are much, much, much faster than any mechanical drive, period. Update the firmware before installing! Firmware updates WILL delete data, there is NO way around this with any manufacturer. If you do so, you will get the most out of this drive you possibly can. As far as the difference between MLC and SLC goes? Seriously, you are going to get about 10 years of USAGE, not powered down time out of this at the least. At the least (Unless it ... Great Drive for Netbook, boots very quickly and helps with battery life quite a bit! No negative aspect to this drive at all. If you can store files on something larger, use this as a system drive!

Decent if you are upgrading an older system with XP and SATA 1
It's old technology compared to modern SSD's, but it seems to work well with the dell dimension 4600 I upgraded that has Sata 1 This SSD has built in TRIM so it's better for XP which doesn't do trim If you can find one cheap it's a good match I say.
