    Surprised

    I was surprised at the actual performance increase from this card. I was using an nVidia GeForce 5200 FX for an AGP slot. The stats for this card are higher than for my AGP card. What is strange is that I'm switching to an older format with the PCI for better graphics. But, it actually is better. Not astounding, but a definate improvement. I can play Vindictus a lot better than before. With the settings all the way down on the game with the connection of my former card I could only get 8 color bars with 4 of 'em in the yellow. It says to aim for the green ..lol... yeah right. With this new one (same settings on low) I shot past the green into the blue. I didn't even know there was a blue! Basically I went from around 20 fps to around 45-50 fps. More than doubled the frame rate. LIke I ...

    EVGA NVIDIA GeForce 8400 GS PCI - Great card for old machine running Win 8

    I have an old HP DC5100 SFF PC I keep as a backup machine. This is a very good Pentium 4 HT 3.0 with 4GB (DDR2-PC3200) machine and I upgraded it to Windows 8 64 bit (without any glitches). Only problem was the on board video card was very slow for playing videos and games. I was looking for a (PCI) silent, low profile video card. Reading specs on the card and online blogs, I was concerned about the factory power supply of 240 watts. Some users mentioned online they did not have any issues with power supply after upgrading to this video card. I took a chance, bought one on ebay, changed to a low profile bracket, removed the vga connection, and used the DVI output. Win8 recognized the card on boot and installed the drivers, later I manually updated to the latest driver. I do not have to even ...

    Slow shipper and delivered non-working item

    GeForce 8400 Review

    Having an old computer which only accepts PCI cards limited ny purchasing abilities to two cards, both by eVGA. It is a great product and will allow me to watch downloads from my computer to my HDTV. The only issue that arose was my old computer had only 200 watts of power and needs at least 350 watts to operate the 8400GS.
