Very Good Product - Worked After Sitting Around - May Need Firmware Update
My recommendation is a 7.5/10ths yes because of the weather resistant housing, the nice armband, and the nice over-the-ear-buds and gold plug. The cons are the slightly hard to operate ring, the charging time, and needing to turn it off after it's fully charged. * I've owned this item for two years now and bought it to play audio files, however it has been sitting idle for several months as I've been using other devices. After charging, the Jet S2001 was full, but wouldn't load the software to the PC; thus I couldn't get it to connect to the PC; Vista O/S. I went to the support download on the RCA manufacturer website and used the applicable firmware update to re-format the player and it finally connected to my PC. Now all my mp3 items are happily reloaded. * The rubber center button ... I have about 7 (avg 20 minute) audio files on it and it's only about 15 percent full. * Not sure how long the battery lasts between charges, but I remember it lasting at least a couple of weeks before; with about 15 minutes of play per day. The charge time may take a while (perhaps two hours?) and it may heat up (and fry the device) after fully charged, thus the need to watch and disconnect.

Small size makes it easy to carry anywhere, has a rubber exterior (good for falls) and comfortable wrap around earphones. Bought this item for my mom's new addition to her exercise routine and she was extremely delighted. Syncs very well with Windows Media Player, and it's so easy, just plug and play. Screen is small but readable considering the overall size of the player. Only drawback is the buttons. Sometimes you have to press the buttons (play, pause,etc) a bit on the harder side for it to function, but nothing major or uncomfortable to do. The cons: Display hard to see in sunlight. Unit turns on when unplugged from charging (so remember to turn it off or it will continue to play). Portable MP3 player
This product is the best I have used yet because of its ability to resist sweat, moisture. I have use this product for 3 weeks now and it still sounds and functions as if I bought yesterday! I have gone through 2 other MP3 players in the past 2 months due to moisture problems, this RCA S2001 (1GB) MP3 player has performed way above my expectations. This one I highly recommend to those people who exercise hard and sweat alot. This little MP3 player can handle it!This product is the best I have used yet because of its ability to resist sweat, moisture. A nice small MP3 player. Good sound quality and enough memory to hold plenty of tunes for your daily workout. Comes with two elastic bands to attach to your body in various places the upper arm being the most convenient. An excellant player for it's intended purpose. It's not a 160GB IPOD but who needs a 160GB IPOD for a one hour workout! A good buy.
