    Tailgate lock

    This product is a band hose clamp type unit with a plastic cover. It utilizes a special tamper resistant keyed bolt head to tighten the band around the tailgate hinge with the slot for lifting the tailgate off. Should be an adequate theft deterrent and more convenient than adding a keyed tailgate handle. The $20 some dollar price is on par with what it is, so a good value. Hopefully this helps to add enough theft deterrent to keep my Dodge Ram tailgate on my truck and not on Craigslist. Only time will tell.

    It’s junk

    It’s almost impossible to measure and cut the contraption for a Toyota Tacoma. I am very mechanical, and reduced the size 5 times by 1/8th inch and still could not get the right size out of it. It’s junk before and after my last cut with a Diamond blade grinder. The instructions say, use sissies. Oh right, with extreme sarcasm.

    Wanted to protect the tailgate, so yes it does the job , but not as durable as it looks . Very thin plastic covered hose clamp is what you get . mine was quickly ruined, but I'll take the responsibility for that Also the key to tighten it down is very pricey, if want another one
