I chose to weld it, but I'm sure the clamps would have been ok. It might of changed the exhaust tone, but not really enough to notice. That's ok, I wasn't looking to make it louder. I wanted to see if the exhaust backpressure would be lowered. Unfortunately it did not. I don't think that will ever change unless I delete the DPF
