A Brooks saddle is the best saddle you can buy.

Now I can't lie - It does take a while to break a new one in, usually at least 100-200 miles (and the sweatier the better), and it helps if you follow the guidelines for pre-treating the saddle with proofhide. If you do everything as described after a few rides you'll have a saddle you will love for years. Just take it slow and don't hurt your bum in the break in period. Also, if you live in city, LOCK IT TO YOU BIKE. A small length of bike chain or a cable of some kind does the trick.

  • There Is't a better saddle made.

I have used brooks saddles for over 50 years . I have tried all different kinds of seats none are as comfortable as a brooks ,once they are broken in .I own two road bikes and a mountain bike all have brooks B-17 saddles. IN my opinion you can't buy a better saddle. G. Kerr Texas

  • Great Saddle

I’ve been riding on a Brooks Cambium for 3 years and realized it was getting more painfull as time went on, to the point where I wasn’t interested in riding much. I just figured because I’m 65 aches and pains are inevitable. Until a friend let me borrow his broken in B17 for a weekend. I liked it so much I had to get my own! I’ve only had it 2 weeks but it’s more comfortable right out of the box than the other seat. This seat makes riding fun again!

  • "Most forgiving standard riding saddle"

I am headed into my 70's and still like to ride regularly, but at 196 lbs have found the split racing saddles (BiSaddle and Bontrager) to be the exact opposite of comfortable. The Brooks was the first saddle I rode on as a teenager and is still the best I have ever used. It will probably extend my riding another decade. Comfortable, high quality and durable. Best choice if you no longer weigh 150 lbs, but still have the desire to go for extended distances.

  • Comfortable after breaking it in

Having tried many bike saddles on my touring bike, with various combinations of gel and anatomic padding, the tried-and-true Brooks B17 is my favorite saddle for long rides. Using the Brooks Proofide cream before rides when first bought speeds the break-in process of conforming it to your sit-bones, and mine was very comfortable after a couple of hundred miles. Unlike other saddles that want your bottom to conform to their shape, the Brooks confirms to your bottom, and its sling or hammock suspension does a very good job of minimizing shock and vibration to your nether region.
