Miracle on 34th Street REMAKE - at least as good as original if not BETTER
This really is a wonderful remake of Miracle on 34th Street. Since it was done in 1994, the Twin Trade Towers are still standing in the city scene(s) and there are no cell phones, emails, etc., so that is REFRESHING and makes this seem already vintage. Brings in the TRUE non-commercial meaning of Christmas very well, with Kris Kringle's monologue(s), and love how the Judge in the final courtroom scene does the closing on his verdict, bringing Almighty God right into it. Love the final ending, just believable enough and perfect. Watch this if you like the original and you won't be disappointed. The only thing you have to ask yourself is: Do you BELIEVE!? Miracle on 34th Street-A movie everyone should see!
I like that it very sweet, romantic, and shows high moral character in the good guys. The little girl is adorable, with amzing intelligence! It's funny, dramatic, and has beautiful scenes of Rockafellow Center & Central Park skating rink, & lots of snow. The only thing I didn't like about it, was the first Santa Clause in one scene showed his "butt crack!" I found that disgusting. And another scene, when that same character is taunting the real santa, he implies, that Santa might be in the "toy business" because he is a pervert and has a thing for little children. That was totally inapropriate. You will want to mute the sound when that comes up, if you have children over the age of 7 watching the movie. All in all it is so worth watching it, since ... Great Remake!
I'm usually not a big fan of remakes, especially when they remake a classic movie; but this is an exception. This version differs just enough from the original, for it to stand on its own merit. The premise stands the same, of course, but (to me) this one possesses a more magical feeling. Thumbs up to John Hughes!

This is a great movie that we watch every year. Last year I thought I had recorded it on the Hopper, but I didn't. Since I only have it on an old VCR tape, I just had to get the DVD. Love the movie!
