    Best Video Game of its Time!

    Star Raiders was the first 3D perspective video game I've played. Although it was made in the late 70's, it uses the typical 3D type starfield with scaling sprites for the 3D effect. It involves space ships shapes from Battlestar Galactica & Star Wars. You use a galactic map to warp to different sectors to protect your starbases. Docking to a starbase will refuel your spacecraft. There is an aft view which allows you to fire behind you while being chased. I have nothing bad to say about this game. A possible improvement would be if it allowed networking between 2 or more ATARI 800's. And ex ATARI game programmer told me they had a network version which wasn't released, but I haven't verified this in person.
