Sharp, Strong and Adjustable Blade
The cast aluminium base/hook is strong and snapped perfectly on the end of my fiberglass pole. I used all three positions on the holder to adjust the blade to slightly different angles. I used the saw while standing on the ground, on a ladder and finally on the roof. Those slight adjustments worked very well as I moved higher in relation to the tree. The blade worked very well. It has teeth that, umm..."stick out" at opposite angles just a little bit. I think that makes the width of the cut a little bit wide than the blade, and helps prevent the blade from binding as you cut deeper. I bought this to replace a blade than cost the same, but was thinner with "straight" teeth. It would start binding about half way into each cut, no matter what I tried. Great Tool for Reaching High Branches
For my specific application living in Florida and trimming tall palm trees with dead fronds, this pole saw has worked extremely well. The cutting blade/saw is extremely sharp and cuts through a branch almost like butter. The extension pieces in the kit allow me to configure a pole up to 21-feet long and I can now reach branches that previously forced me to balance precariously on a ladder. Now I have a much more stable and safe position just standing on the ground. However, a caution - a pole this long does flex a little and the handler must be aware of that. Lifting the pole and positioning the cutting blade will require a little physical effort, though I was able to do so at my 60+ years of age without too much problem.
