  • Chicago Blues Lives On!

If you're a fan of older Chicago style blues, this is a must have collection. Many players and bands on here have left the planet...but the beat goes on. Buddy Guy in his younger incarnation shows his guitar prerogatives which made him the revered guitarist he is today. Crazed solos and incredible vocal ranges! As teenagers we listened to this album over and over until we got them right, Checkin On My Baby, Next Time You see Me...all good stuff...Otis Spann is a force to be reckoned with on the 88;s...let's hear the new pianists take on Spann's Stomp! Again, a tour de force for the Chicago Blues. All of which could be seen regularly in the sleezebag joints that peppered the south and north sides of Chicago 1970's and 80's.
