About this product

Product Information

In Mega Man X8 from Capcom, the evil Sigma returns. By imprinting his DNA on the chips going into new Reploids, he is able to amass a massive robot army. When Sigma kidnaps a scientist in charge of building an elevator to the moon, the Maverick Hunters leap into action. Join Mega Man X, Zero, and Axl as they attempt to put a stop to Sigma once and for all. This PlayStation 2 release was the last Mega Man X game on the console.Mega Man X8 marks a return to 2-D gameplay. There are eight levels that players can attempt in any order. At the end of each level is a Maverick. Each Maverick has a unique weapon, look, and attack pattern. Defeat a Maverick to gain his weapon for your own purposes. Mega Man X8 has a puzzle-solving element to it as well as certain bosses are weak to specific weapons. Figuring out the right weapon can result in you defeating a boss in under 10 seconds. Once you defeat all eight bosses, you'll tackle Sigma's fortress, ending with a boss fight against Sigma himself. With Mega Man X8, you'll get to select two characters at the beginning of each stage. You can switch between these characters at will as you play the game. Each character can be controlled differently. Mega Man X uses his Mega Buster to deal damage from afar. Zero uses his Z-Saber to get up close and personal with his opponents. Axl is the only character who can shoot in eight different directions. You will also select a navigator to accompany you. These navigators will point out hidden secrets as you play a level. After completing the game, these navigators then become playable. Players can earn currency in the levels that they can use on items and upgrades, such as extra lives. In addition, players can also find armor pieces hidden in the levels. These armor pieces unlock new abilities, such as the ability to dash. These pieces will also increase your health and power up your weapons. You can replay a level after you complete it to search for the hidden armor pieces. The game also offers two difficulty levels, Normal and Hard. In Hard mode, the enemies take more damage before they explode and do more damage to your character. This title takes full advantage of the PlayStation 2's hardware. The sprites are large and detailed for both the main heroes and the enemies. Attacks will fill the screen with little to no slowdown. The music on this title is also excellent. In fact, fans loved the music so much that Capcom released it on its own as a soundtrack CD. Mega Man X8 was a success with both gamers and critics alike in 2004. The return to a classic style of gameplay was praised along with the new features. If you're a fan of this franchise, this Mega Man X8 game from Capcom is certainly worth playing just for the story alone.

I can't say enough nice things about my experience. I was interested in multiple items and suggested a price for all in a message. They created a new listing and sent me a link. After purchasing I let them know there was no rush to ship and they told me it would go out the next day. The items arrived with more than enough packaging to keep my items safe in transit. This is a seller I look forward to buying from in the future.

I purchased and the seller sent as described, and in a reasonably timely manner, packed acceptably, for a tolerable shipping cost. I don’t recall much if any communication from the seller. However, I would still buy from again. Thank you.

  • Mega Man X8: A Primer of Sorts

I got this game because I am a huge fan of the Mega Man series and wanted to complete my collection of the X games, and in my opinion this was a good addition to make. In this game, the Earth of the future has been severely damaged thanks to the efforts of human-hating robots (we call them Mavericks; see X-X7), and so humans are working hard on moving to the Moon. They are assisted by friendly/neutral/non-Maverick robots commonly known as Reploids, and their less-sentient counterparts the Mechaniloids. Unfortunately, this Jakob Project is in danger from sabotage. Early on in the game the project's leader is kidnapped by the Maverick Vile, who is notorious, as is his boss Sigma, for refusing to stay dead. Now eight sites associated with the project are under attack by Mavericks, and it's ...

  • Its a good and challenging game for anyone who likes Mega Man X.

Question 1-Why did I by this product? I bought this product because I have missed playing this game, since I used to have a copy of it. Question 2-What do I like about the product? You get to play as the Navigators in this game, with the choose between unlocking them or using cheat codes to get them. Question 2.5-What I dislike about the product. The game tends to slow down at times. The other reason why I dislike the product is that I don't like how Mega Man X, Axl and Zero are drown and made for this game. Alia should had a choose of two different versions of her one with the Mega Man X 5's version and the one from Mega Man X 8. And lastly the third question-How does this product compare to others. Its better than Mega Man X 7. But it doesn't compare to the previous 6 Mega Man X ...

  • X8 delivers in 15 minutes or less!

This game is a crowning achievement for CAPCOM. They didn't hold back in making this a truly enjoyable game! Let me mention here that this is really a 2D platforming game, enhanced with 3D graphics. With 3 characters at your disposal, each with their own unique abilities you can kick some serious butt. You can play this game solely with one character, but with the Tag Assist feature adopted from X7 you can take the gameplay to a whole new plateau. And there are many more features... Take for instance Zero. His main weapon of choice since he became playable was the Z Saber. In X7 there was the D-Glaive and V-Hanger weapons. In X8 he has SO MUCH MORE WEAPONS. And all of these weapons are useful and uniquely cool. CAPCOM finally makes Zero the badass that he truly is. The levels are ...

  • The Blue Bomber is finally back - X style

I knew Capcom would strike back eventually. They finally did and gave us Mega Man X8. After the last X game people started to lose hope with Capcom and Mega Man himself. Now we have no reason to complain about past mistakes because I truly believe they made up for them. Yay! Good voices and no targeting system! These are the first things you will notice if you played Mega Man X7. Everything in this game is better than X7. Graphics, cut-scenes, controls, voices, music, and story. I don't want to bash X7 but this game is just so much better. The reploids are still fighting amongst each other so now man has decided to go to the Moon to think up new operations. However, instead of going there by rocket, they are building a gigantic orbital elevator which connects the Earth and the Moon. This ...

  • One of the best X games

MEGA MAN X7: Let me start this review by saying I had ABSOLUETLY no problem with the 3-D-D system this game had going on, personally I found it very cool. Dont let what people tell you about this game ruin your thoughts.. Like the voice acting was awful -- So what else is new? It's capcom, they suck with voices. That doesnt ruin an amazing game though, there is sub titles unless you just cant read, another thing is people say the 3-D gets really frustrating and can get you killed, theres a simple explanation, those people that complain about that just suck at the game. I found this to be the easiest game in the series, how can you possibly die on the final fight with sigma? I barely even had to move for god's sake! damn that god I dont believen for people being dense! Megaman Legends 2 ...
