Let this internal hard drive expand the capabilities of your electronics.Designed for consumer laptops and for desktop computers with limited space, these drives are built with a 2.5-inch form factor. Their slim profile allows you to use these devices in tandem with many other hard disks. They can also be used in a small notebook computer where other drives won't fit. The Seagate Momentus connects to a motherboard via a 3 GB/s SATA interface. This delivers plenty of data transfer speed. A 7200 RPM spindle allows you to access any address on the hard disk quickly. This disk uses a 16MB buffer cache to hold critical I/O data, noticeably improving your user experience. A fluid dynamic bearing motor decreases noise, wear, and vibrations, which increase the life of the component.Latency rates have a major impact on overall disk performance. The Seagate Momentus ST9500423AS has an average latency rate of only 4.2 milliseconds, keeping lookup times low. The 300 MBps data transfer rate sends large quantities of data up and downstream quickly. This enables you to run complex software applications from this device. Native Command Queuing quickly optimizes the order for read/write commands to the disk. By grouping simpler commands together, it can increase the rate of data transfer dramatically, resulting in a much-improved experience on your end. HDD models rarely make a non-recoverable error. The chances of this model doing so are one in 10 to the fourteenth power. That is effectively zero for all noncommercial applications, giving you security and peace of mind. These drives support 600,000 stop/start cycles before they become unhealthy. This allows you to run them for years with a very low risk of failure. Sorry to hear you have a little spot on battery. Which doesn't really affect anything and there is no need for such frustration over a little issue. Got a best price possible and way below market, still grumpy.... You do not have worry about buying from us in future. you are already blocked for life on all accounts. I would also recommend to other seller to block a guy, unless you want to hear such complains

Usually I would simply write a negative review for a seller whose product and service was as bad as this one's, but seeing that he wants to tell others to block me and not sell to me I will go the extra mile. He has sent me unlabeled batteries, the box from USPS had no labels for batteries either. He sent them across state lines. He most likely lied to the US postal service about the package content. My advice to him is run. I will be reporting him to USPS and the federal government.

    The Most Dependable HDD

    I replaced my first hard drive about 8 years ago and had problem after problem after replacing it twice with other brands. I replaced it the third time with a Seagate and never had another problem. Since that time, I have replaced several hard drives in different computers I have and have had and I have not had any problems because I always use a Seagate. This hard drive is quiet and very fast (the 7200 rpm model) for a disk drive. Sure a SSD is probably much faster but then you have the cost difference. For the cost, you can't get a better hard drive than this one. I will and do highly recommend it to all of my friends and relatives.

    Great upgrade for my old drive

    This doubled the size of my hard drive in my laptop and it was easy to install. I've loaded all the added all my software and it runs as fast as the original and has tons of free space. Great purchase when my original died.

    GREAT LITTLE DRIVE FOR USE IN EXTERNAL ENCLOSURE

    I bought this to replace a 500mb Hitachi drive that failed after only 13 months of use. I use this in an external enclosure to physically carry large amounts of data between different Mac computers (don't like iCloud!). Right out of the box -- after formatting -- this drive worked just fine. Hope this one lasts long than the Hitachi which only lasted for 13 months! (We'll see.)
