trap doesn't fool smart snails
I guess my snails were too smart to fall for the trap. even worse, they're laying eggs On Top Of It! There is a video of a guy using it in his aquarium and it got LOTS of snails overnight. I've had mine in the tank for 3 days and it had trapped 2 but it looks like one of them found a way out. It probably would work in a larger tank. Gonna give it to my son so he can try it in his very large aquarium. My set ups are both live planted nano tanks (5 and 2 gallons). I so wished it had worked, now I'm back to trying to find a super hungry assassin snail or yoyo loach.I guess my snails were too smart to fall for the trap. even worse, they're laying eggs On Top Of It! Caught a plethora pf small ramshorn snails
This little device works well in catching snails. At night I baited it with a algae disc and in the morning it was full of snails. Removing the pegs that are used to keep fish out is a tad inconvenient but it is worth the bother.

VERY effective!
This is the BEST snail trap I've ever used. It is easily adaptable with included accessories to prevent fish of most sizes from entering. There are only two bait tabs included, but the company does sell bottles of the stuff, and you can also use your own. It is very easy to put together, doesn't float away, bait stays where it needs to, and snails do NOT escape once inside. It's easy to clean and easy to bait. This is pretty well made also, so I have no doubts that it will last quite a while.This is the BEST snail trap I've ever used. It is easily adaptable with included accessories to prevent fish of most sizes from entering. Nice product, good quality, didn't work for me
Unfortunately the product did not work for me. I have a relatively large freshwater dwarf shrimp collection in my aquarium and they were able to get inside the trap and eat the bait before snails could find it. It might have worked if I didn't have the shrimp but since I cannot remove them I guess I will never know.
