    HP4600 review -- and thoughts on buying through eBay.

    As a computer professional who now has retired from that pressure-cooker environment to be a teacher, I have recommended and used many printers. I particularly like the HP4600 because it is fast, reliable, and quite inexpensive in the per-copy department. This is especially true if you refill the cartridges. This is surprisingly easy for the HP4600. The consumables are also very easy to replace. I chose the vendor from which I purchased this unit because they were close enough to my location to allow me to pick up the unit locally. Close proximity is also good because the vendor will probably be honest about the offered product in order to avoid a dissatisfied customer camping on their doorstep. With these items in mind, I decided to buy this unit from this vendor, pretty much ahead ...

    HP LaserJet 4600n Printer

    Nice size printer for home office or small business. Can easily handle most print jobs. Easy to change toner. Display panel gives easy to see how much toner is left of each color. Fast printing in either color or black on white at 17 pages per minute. It has help us to cut print costs at the same time increasing quality of the flyers and brochures that are needed. Recommend.

    Fast & quiet but limited upgradeability

    This model is quite an upgrade from the 4500/4550 series. It is fast, quiet and has virtually no moving parts. Print quality is fantastic. Only drawback is the smart cartridges but it's an OK trade-off. ***One thing to remember with this series is that you better get the one with the features you want (mainly duplexing) as it is not a simple add on option like previous models. If you buy a non-duplexing 4600/n, that is all it will ever be.
