Purchased 2 gears for the GM power folding mirrors. The ends of the shaft were just a bit larger than the OEM. I had to use emery cloth in order for the brass bushings to fit properly. Product worked well after that.

    Worked well overall

    The shaft on the gear end side was a little too long so I had to grind it down to fit in place but after that it worked great. There's a lot of videos showing you how to put it in and you don't have to buy a new motor because the wheel is made of plastic. Time will tell if it holds up. I think it broke because it got knocked backwards when I went through a car wash. Your best bet is to fold them in using the power button every time you go through a car wash. That way you won't crack the hear and have to begin with.

    Does not work with factory motor

    Works great folding in but when folding out the motor grounds thru the case thus making it ground thru the all metal gear making the motor not work. Had to buy one with a nylon gear so it would not do that. Now it works great both ways.I dont recomend

    OEM for 2009 avalanche worked great

    2008 Chevy Suburban LT power folding mirror repair for $12.

    I repaired my 2008 Chevy Suburban LT power folding mirror which did’t power fold anymore with this $12 part. Just follow the directions on YouTube. It took me about thirty minutes from start to finish. The only other option is to replace the entire folding mirror assembly which costs close to $500.

    Why plastic?

    IMHO, this part is designed to be the weak link intentionally. Not to cost you more money but rather to save more costly repairs. I'll explain, if the mirror is accidentally moved by a force other than the motor and gears, then the plastic part is sacrificial to prevent damage to the ring gears, or worse and more likely to the worm gear on the motor. This might possibly result in destroying the motor and worm gear or at the very least bending the motor shaft. If you understand how a worm gear operates, then you understand that it can't easily be turned by the shaft gear. Hope this helps as I was first inclined to purchase the metal replacement part until I thought about it.
