I ordered this item for my 2012 Nissan Frontier. It arrived within the timeframe the seller provided, and was in “new” condition and in a sealed box. The directions provided were easy to follow but hard to read or see the pictures clearly due to small size. The item was easy to install, worked adequately without adjustments or alterations, and looks great!

Overall 5 stars - easy install. Shipping could have better or faster. Instructions easy to understand however the sizes of sockets in manual needed for bolt removal is not accurate. Lastly, the bracket connected to lift assist piston is loose - i have to tape around so it will not fall. It works so still 5 stars.

Overall okay. The instructions are missing some steps. The A8 bolt needs to have the gold colored nut installed as the bolt is too long. But the instructions do not mention that.
Also the stainless clip that goes on the top of the lift unit is flimsy and does not stay in place. This part needs to remain in place so that the lift unit does not fall off of the top post. A better design is needed for that part.
the unit does work and keeps the tailgate from falling down which is very nice.
