This radio has excellent sound. Much better than the 777 model. Programming was easy using chirp and a baofeng usb to headphone cable. I had to use Windows 7 for the driver to recognize the cable. Remember to open the battery cover and remove the plastic when you receive it. Note to all, the default channels should not be used in the USA. You really should program this for frs grms frequencies. All in all a good purchase. The sound quality alone makes it worth a few extra $ over the 777 model.

So far these radios have been working great in a retail environment. We switched from the receive h777 to these and what a difference! They are smaller, lighter, and the antenna is the perfect size. The only downside so far is that they do not work with my old radios unless they are all on channel 6 or 7. I also love the belt clip design. I have only had these a couple weeks but it seems much more durable than the other models.

Great for what it is. Don't buy this expecting it to be a full blow ham radio or anything. But if you need a small and unobtrusive radio for close range then this is a great choice. Programming was super easy. I got them for my backpacking group to use as we often separate into two groups on the trail. I get about 1/2 to 3/4 of a mile out of them on the trail and that works just fine. I really like the audio on these much better than Motorola's companded audio. They are just clearer.

Bought 20 of these for church security for a congregation of 125. Our building and land covers 10 acres. Excellent clear reception both inside and out. Covert earpiece allows communication to those in auditorium and classrooms while keeping disturbance of others to a minimum.. Both earpiece and microphone are clear. Batteries hold up well in storage and have plenty of lasting power for 6 hours plus. Recharges in 15 minutes to one hour. All 20 radios, chargers, and earpieces worked fine out of the box with no returns required. These have 16 channels with a channel lock feature. We basically select the same channel, lock, and test before each service. We do not use all 20 each service but wanted everyone to have their own radio to minimize chances of spreading covid-19. So far, used for one month, this is just what we need. Reliable, inexpensive communication.Read full review

Great product for the price! I have purchased almost 50 of these for our company and they work very well for our needs, Use is in all weather and we only need about a mile of range, with use in and out of buildings and reception is great. If there is any negative, it is the pocket clip. They must be taken off to charge if you get the 6 charger and if charged by singles, the it stays on, but could be lost fairly easily. For the price, just buy extras! Had Motorolas for years and I can buy ten of these for what the battery cost to replace on one Motorola!
