Recommended for hardwoods
I used these 1 1/4 screws for joining 3/4 maple with great results. I would use these on oak or hard woods that would be prone to cracking. I like that these screws are heat treated and square drive. I was tempted to use glue but when I saw how strong the joints were I skipped the glue in favor of the repair ability of the boxes I was making. No predrilling was needed. The Kreg drill jig is a huge time saver and eliminates nail heads showing. This system is a winner!I used these 1 1/4 screws for joining 3/4 maple with great results.
