I just followed the installation instructions in the 706's instruction manual. The only tricky part was soldering the really small leads (6) of the crystal unit to the circuit board, but it was doable. Testing shows that the new crystal is rock steady and dead-on accurate. The radio is now usable again, even on FT8! Now if this same seller just had a similar solution for IC-9700 drift problem ...
