It is a very tight fit and tries to rack the slide when putting it into the holster. The big problem is the thumb break does not snap shut. It is too short for the SR40. However, my Ruger 1911 Commander fits nicely in the holster, not perfect, but good enough to carry. This is why I'm keeping it and giving 4 stars.
