    Overall good. But lack of speaking custom room names is a problem.

    It's great overall, to the extent you never know until an event happens. After 1 month, no false alarms. I have confidence in the multiple different ways it detects fire (2 types of light, and heat too). However, I feel misled by the marketing about it speaking room names. The list of room names is very limited. So for example, it can say "there is smoke in the bedroom". Every second counts when at 3am you need to find the source of the fire. But "bedroom" is all it can say. Which bedroom is not supported. We have 6 bedrooms. It can say either "master bedroom" or "bedroom". We wanted our children's names for each bedroom but it can't speak custom names. As a compromise, we would have been fine with "bedroom 1", "bedroom 2", etc. But it can't speak numbers either. I bought 4 and ...

    Great product with nice extra features above a standard alarm.

    This is the only nest product I have in my house currently. but it's a very solid alarm. The motion sensor night light is a neat addition but I may disable it depending on how much it affects the battery as my cat can activate it during the night too. If I had the option for the wired version it would definitely stay on though. This alarm replaced a year old standard alarm that was giving me regular false alarms recently (either through a fault in the model or high humidity, I wasn't sure of the exact cause). The Nest alarm hasn't given a false alarm yet in identical conditions. Very nicely designed and the accompanying app is nice to send warning to your phone.

    extra peace of mind with this smoke /carbon monoxide detector

    this was easy to set up. was delivered promptly. I like that I can check the status from anywhere and that I will be notified from anywhere if there is a problem. we live out in the country and we get extra peace of mind with this detector. we purchased two for our small home (cabin really) and after our addition is built on we will add another one. if there is an issue and we are not home we can still alert the fire department. we did have to turn off the night light feature. it was very sensitive and every time we or the dogs shifted in bed the light would come on. in a hallway it would be nice, but not in our compact bedroom!

    Excellent smart home detector

    Excellent detector that is easy to set up with Nest or Google Home apps. I have 2 other detectors like this, and are all linked together which helps identify the location by name if any of them go off. They also have a night light which is a very nice feature. I have internet service in my detached garage which will be the next location I add one of these.

    Love it!

    Replaced 3 older battery operated units with 3 nest units and couldn't be happier. Having them tied together on my network allows me to monitor the status and also get push notifications for low battery or any alarm. Had our first alarm due to a smoking oven in the kitchen (cooking related) and loved the verbal warning along with the option to silence the alarm from my phone. As we also have a Nest thermostat I appreciate the CO detector being able to shut down the furnace if it detects anything. The pathway light is another cool feature.
