    Great slug mold

    I had good success using this mold to cast 12 gauge shotgun slugs. I used pure lead, and it didn't take long to start casting perfect slugs. I sprayed a little Frankford Arsenal mold release agent on the hollow base pin to help things along. The slugs weigh right at 525 grains, with very little variation, which is the expected weight. I think this is a great mold, and a good value at the price I paid.

    Cheap slugs

    With the price of loaded slug ammo being what it is, if you cast bullets it is worth your while to get one of these. This mold casts beautiful slugs after a short break in . Load them in target cases with AA or Claybuster wads,. Doesn't get much easier. Tried the Lee mold, had problems after 75 slugs, handles twisted. That one went back. You get what you pay for. I like this mold though, a little more accurate than the Lee in my guns to boot.

    The Lyman Sabot Slug provides external and terminal ballistic improvement over the classic Foster or Brenneke slugs.Compatible with a target wad, hull and load, the Lyman Sabot Slug allows the use of a field shotgun for big game by a handloader, for less cost per round than commercial birdshot loads. Lyman molds are the gold standard for bullet casting, and turn out a superb quality slug. A lesser slug may be fine for plinking, but Lyman precision and their excellent design instill confidence when taking game or facing charismatic megafauna.

    Top quality

    I've been wanting one of these for ages, but unable to locate one in the UK. Saw this on e-Bay and bought it. Brilliant. Usual high Lyman quality of manufacture. Casts really cleanly and the slugs are more accurate than some commercially bought.

    Overall a nice mold.

    Kind of pricey. I casted a couple dozen slugs last weekend worked well once the mold got up to temp. Haven't loaded any yet I'll need to pickup a few things and load some next weekend.
