All That Jazz
This a very good well balanced ride cymbal. It has a nice crash and even though it has a large bell sets a good tone used as a ride and moderate amount of sustain. I bought this to replace an Avedis Zildjian Ping Ride that didn't pair well with the 16" S series thin crash I had and sustained into the next morning. This matches it perfectly as it also is an S series with the same bronze formula. But it doesn't stop there it matches very well with my Paiste 404 hats which also pair good with the 16" crash. It can get very loud if you so choose but also does stick articulation like a pro. I highly recommend all the S series Zildjians although as for me I prefer the cymbals on the thin side. To me the 20" S ride is much better in the medium than the heavy as well the same for the crash. The medium-thin has a nicer ring to it than the heavy. But that is from my perspective some may like the heavier cymbals. But if you are putting together an abstract kit these are a cut above the standard kit cymbals and blend well with cymbals from other manufacturers.
