Great for keeping cars from flying into hard objects!
I have not had them long so I don't know about the idea that they can be taken off and stored with the strips that protect the sticky edge. I bought them primarily so that the cars would not fly off and hit hard objects and get broken and they work great in that capacity. Some larger cars will tend to stay in their slot at high speeds but not the skinny ones and if you have a complex track design, there need not be that much of a benefit to one racer over the other.
