    Gas Range Adapter

    I don't have a chance to test it at a 220V 4 prong outlet but I did test the connection between the prongs of the adapter with a multimeter for continuity. When plugging in an actual 4 prong outlet, the HOT on adapter is connected to the HOT on the right of the outlet; the NEUTRAL on adapter is connected to the NEUTRAL of the outlet; the GND on adapter is connected the GND of the outlet, The HOT on the left of the outlet is not connected. I think it will work but not sure about the quality of the interior 15A fuse. I guess a gas stove without electric range should consume much less current then a gas stove with electric range, so a 15A fuse might provide enough protection for the stove.

    Kept me from paying an electrician.

    I replaced my electric range with a gas one. I didn't realize that I would need a different plug for the new unit. The guy who was installing the gas line told me to call and electrician to install a new outlet. I figured this transformer had to exist, so I searched and found this. I figured it was worth a shot to save a hundred bucks or more. I'm glad it took the shot. It works perfectly and literally saved me at least $100.

    Great Device

    This adapter plugs into an electric stove outlet and steps the power down from 220V to 110V so a power cord for a gas stove can be plugged into it. The installers from Public Service North Carolina had never seen one and were duly impressed. The plumbing inspector has seen them before and had no concerns about the product's safety.
