Product Information

Show creator Stirling Silliphant's police drama series NAKED CITY(1958-63) constituted a televised spinoff of the 1948 movie of the same name. Episodes, which ran on ABC, followed the cases of the detectives working in the 65th Precinct of the NYPD. The program was unique and groundbreaking for two reasons: first, because it preserved the documentary-like approach to storytelling that made the feature film so stylistically unique, and second, because it placed far more of a narrative emphasis on criminals and victims than on the investigators per se. This box set offers 40 of the show's 138 original episodes; guest stars seen here include Jon Voight, Peter Fonda, Jack Klugman and Dustin Hoffman.
