    Continueing the band without Jim.

After the death of Jim Morrison, the Doors were without a singer and lyricist. They put out two LPs which featured Ray Manzarek and Robbie Kreiger on vocals. They were adequate but not as good as Jim Morrison. There seemed to be more emphasis on the instrumental playing which was their strength. So if you want to hear good playing and vocals that were OK, check out the record. There are both final albums on this set.

    The Doors Other Circles

This is a great example of the remaining Doors members working through their loss and not losing themselves. It is a great example of their musicianship and talent. It has the rhythm and drive of the time with a smooth feel. If you are a real Doors fan, have a glass of wine in a quiet place and let the sounds roll over you. Listen and appreciate the Trio in the time they put this together. Liner notes in the Disc take you there.

  • Post-Morrison Doors Releases

Other Voices contains some well-crafted songs along the same vein as the previously-released LA Woman album. The song, Tightrope Ride, is pure Doors, good old-fashioned rock and roll that will replay in your brain at all hours of the day and night. Watch the u-tube video live performance of this song at the Beat Club. A couple of the songs are lame, however, most of the songs are good listening with great instrumentals and outstanding percussion. Missing, is the dark edge or mysterious element that Morrison never failed to provide in previous recordings. Four-star rating for sure! Full Circle goes down a different path that Doors fans may or may not be ready for. The Mosquito, was the AM radio song I remember from the seventies. Listening to this song on a good-quality stereo system is fun and quite moving. The album contains some good jazz, easy listening that will take your places in your inner self. The creativity can be described as, Far Out. This recording rates four stars. Hey, two for the price of one is great value! Mojo Rider

  • The two Doors albums after the death of Jim Morrison on a single album is an excellent value

These are the two Doors albums after the death of Jim Morrison. They are surprisingly good even without the great lyrics and distinctive voice of Morrison. Each member of the trio delivers their own contributions with guitarist Krieger's "Mosquito" being an amusing Latin rhythm number.

  • The public, not the group was the failure

It's a shame that the public would not accept the group without Jim Morrison. As Genesis would do five years later, the group just went with their own instead of a new singer. The material, especially on OTHER VOICES is great, easily up to MORRISON HOTEL or L.A. WOMAN. The discs have been remastered and sound much crisper than my old LPs.

  • Interesting to hear the Doors w/o Jim Morrison

I had heard these songs before but they weren't on CD. Nice to have.

  • After Mr. Mojo

Better than you’d think. A great chance for the band to extend without Jim. Worth the listen.
