Junk
Junk, rivets heads are bent, won't allow the air guide to be installed. Core fell apart in my hands. Normally the core is almost impossible to separate. Insulator at top of core missing. Item works as designed. Would be useful if installation instruction is provided with package. There is a right and a wrong way to mount the item which will ultimately affect functionality. Good fit.
I cannot say this was a 100% exact replacement coil but it did fit my hole spacing, allowed for precise adjustment for gap to flywheel, had plenty long enough wire to reach the spark plug and most importantly worked as expected. Never Worked Better...
Since this is a solid state coil, I used the assembly to replace the original coil, points and condenser in a 1975 Rototiller. It was a perfect fit, it was easy to install and adjust, and upon completion the tiller started with only about 1/3 of the starter rope pulled out on the first pull. in other words, the rototiller has never started easier. Coil upgrade
This coil worked great on my older 5hp as an upgrade from points/condenser system. I removed all the hardware contained in points/condenser area and sealed where the wire came out. Some people just cut the wire and leave everything behind the flywheel intact. Strong spark and started right up. I put a new key in the flywheel because it looked worse for wear.
