This is an Academy 12280 1:48 P-40C Tomahawk. The P-40C Tomahawk is an early model of the Curtiss Wright P-40 series. The first flight of the Tomahawk was on April 10, 1941. It was equipped with a new fuel supplying system and much more advanced radio equipment. Of the 16,802 P-40s, 1,705 of them were the C type. Currently, only one of these historical craft has been restored and is being kept in flight condition. Good detail and well formed parts
I bought this product because a competitor's product was inferior in quality and I did not want to waste my time trying to fix or hide the airplane model's imperfections. I was hoping Academy made a superior model and I knew it by just opening the box and inspecting the parts. I have not assembled and painted it yet but I expect it to be an enjoyable build that I will be happy to display.
