    Inexpensive magazines for Ruger LCP

I've purchased 5 of these total after buying the first one and using it for several months. I have had no issues whatsoever with these magazines after hundreds of rounds. They are exactly half what a Ruger branded version costs and perform the exact same function. They are not as smoothly polished and slick as the Ruger factory versions, but they do exactly the same thing with no error. I would recommend these with no hesitation. It is always good to have a few on your person to up your round count. 6+1 is not a lot!

    Failure to Eject

Of the three RUG 13's purchased, one would not eject from the Ruger LCP I recently purchased. After several attempts, it finally did eject only to lock in place again when I used it. Eventually found a burr in the catch that was to fault and once that was removed all is well. I was fortunate that I tried all three while both gun and clips were empty. I'm not sure if this was a normal thing or just a one off, but I will pay more for Ruger parts in the future.

  • Good but it may need some modifications

this magazine does what its supposed to but it may need some modifications. I've found that the plastic part that feeds the ammo up after each round is chambered needs to be sanded down slightly to keep it from catching on the hole that the 'magazine catch lever' goes into on the side of the magazine when seated into the gun. its a quick fix and if you are having a problem with the rounds not feeding up after shooting or are having a problem just from removing the rounds from the magazine , then you know what I'm talking about. The best thing to do is to get a screw driver and push down that the plastic piece that feeds up the bullets , push it down quickly and let it up quickly so you can see if it will catch. if it does then you need sanding. ALSO , the finger extension may need a very slight sanding on the top front part of the finger extension. you have to remove the finger extension from the bottom of the magazine. The light sanding of this part will allow the magazine to seat in quicker and properly when inserting the magazine. or else you may find that the magazine may not click in

  • inexpensive bullet holder

Seems to work OK. Follower is not acceptable to use a speedloader without placing the first round by hand. Other than loading it seems ok and feeds properly. Certainly not the fit and finish of RUGER OE. Like the title says just a bullet holder. Spend twice as much and get a quality mag when used for CC. Your life depends on it. The review form should have a questionable quality box.

  • Not a smooth fit.

I haven't been to the range yet so I don't want to be too harsh. The mag accepts rounds stiffly as you would expect when brand new. I am a little concerned with the fit. It seems to take extra effort to lock into place. Maybe it will improve with use.

  • Not bad, but not great!

As many of the reviews have stated, it doesn't fit as well as the factory Mag. It's hard to get it to click into place and when it does, it feels a little loose. Also, a few times the slide caught on the top of the mag and would not release. I'm hoping that after a little usage, it may work a little smother. Not bad for the price, but not great. (I'm using it in a Ruger LCP).

  • Still think they are fine magazines!

In timed competition last week, all of us shooting little 380's. Rounds consisted of: hree, three three, five, five and six, Time not counted for reloading. I was the only one shooting Ruger LCP II and could not find Ruger magazines so bought these PRO MAG's. The Ruger one performed perfectly along with one of the Pro Mags. The other hung up on last shot--Three rounds, Five or Six would not feed the last round. Fellow shooter took a file, made one quick swipe on a burr under the top lip and it worked fine there after. Obviously a fluke maching stamping. Since I was able to complete the shoot, no harm done, and magazine is as good as new. Wish I could say the same about the LCP. At 15 yards and beyond it looked like I had shot the target with a shotgun!

  • Great, reliable magazines!

These magazines fit the firearm well, and have a very solid construction. They feed reliably, and I've never had an issue with the function. The only thing I would change about these mags would be to put a more slick finish on them, much like the factory magazines, and to make them compatible with aftermarket grip extensions. These will not accept most aftermarket grip extensions, as they are made differently than the factory models in certain respects. With that said, they are an excellent and reliable choice for spare magazines, at a great price!

  • Not a perfect fit

This does not go into the grip as easily as the Ruger magazine that came with the LCP 380. You have to bang it pretty good to get it to go all the way in. Seems to drop out just fine though. Maybe it will fit in easier after some more use. You may want to use this one for carrying in the pistol and the factory mag for quicker reloading. Price is good compared to $30 for a Ruger magazine. Just not the smooth fit I hoped for.

  • Poor Quality Control

I loaded the mag and tested it by flicking the rounds out of it with my thumb. Three came out fine then the follower stuck on one of the stamped holes in the body of the mag. This prevented additional rounds from feeding into the chamber. I tried several times with the same result. I ended up taking the mag apart and filing around the stamped hole from the inside. When it was stamped out at the factory, a metal burr was left which prevented the follower from coming all the way up. After I fixed it, it seems to work ok. But not I'm hesitant to trust this for carrying. If it hangs up while defending myself, I might end up DEAD!
