About this product
Product Information
The vintage look of the Nikon L35 is deceiving as this 1980s camera offers features for modern photography. Although this 35-millimeter film camera is small enough to fit in your pocket, it performs with reliable precision. Its autofocus function is quick and accurate even when you're using slide film. Its bright-frame viewfinder has 0.52x magnification and 85% frame coverage. The f/2.8 lens is a five-element unit that adds sharpness to your photos. Among early electronic cameras, the Nikon L35AF is a favorite. As the first model in the L Series, this camera was Nikon's original touch camera and has become a popular item for collectors. It was the company's first consumer point-and-shoot model and was introduced in 1983. In Japan, the L35AF was given the nickname Pikaichi, meaning "top notch". It works completely in automatic exposure with a range of EV 6 to EV 17 with ASA/ISO 100 film. The unit's AF gets a sharp image from 0.8 meters to infinity. With 35-millimeter film cartridges, the camera's film speed range is ASA/ISO 50 to 1,000. You don't have to be a professional photographer to operate this Nikon, as the controls are easily accessible and simple to use.Through the viewfinder, you can pre-focus so that your pictures come out the way you want them every time. The finder offers a lot of helpful guides, as it has picture frame marks, autofocus frame marks, parallax compensation frame marks, focus symbols, and a focus indicator needle. Many users find that Nikon L35 cameras differ from typical point-and-shoot devices because the finders show such an accurate indication of distance. The lens, with its focal length of f/2.8, captures the richness of the color in your subjects. It was designed by Koichi Wakamiya to be a modernized version of the Sonnar formula type. All lenses that are compatible with the camera's 46-millimeter thread will perform well with this Nikon model. For impressive black and white photos, just attach a yellow filter with a 46-millimeter screw. You can even use a telephoto lens to zoom in on objects in the far distance.A small lever on the side of the camera lens activates a 2-stop backlight compensation. At full output, the flash goes off and the Flashmatic system is coupled to the focal distance. If you want daylight-filled flash, then try covering the lens and lightly pressing the release button. The flash sync should rise to top shutter speed. The result is a clear, vivid, memorable photo even when taken in dim light. The filter accommodates the metering process that operates electronically. Likewise, the programmed leaf shutter is automatic and serves as diaphragm blades as well. The entire apparatus is powered by two AA alkaline batteries. With the release button located on the top panel surrounded by the on/off switch and a hand grip on the right side of the camera, the Nikon SLR L35AF is comfortable to hold and maneuver. Its self-timer allows you to be included in your group shots and family photos.
