Based on Games Workshop's Warhammer 40,000 universe, Space Marine is a third-person shooter that pits elite human soldiers against two deadly factions: the feral Orks and the shadowy Chaos. You take command of Captain Titus of the Ultramarines, who must defend a strategically critical weapons-producing planet from falling into enemy hands. Both shooting and melee combat are supported, with players able to seamlessly switch between fighting styles simply by tapping a button. Defeating enemies will earn your character "fury," which can be used to trigger more powerful ranged or melee attacks. In addition to the single-player campaign, Space Marine includes co-op play as well as competitive multiplayer game types.

    I like moderately complex games

    WarHammer 40K: SpaceMarine strikes that balance between difficulty/challenge and straightforward/ease of game-play. I feel satisfaction hacking and blowing away dozens of cockney-sounding Orc enemies, as I follow the rather interesting story. I'm halfway through by the time I wrote this review (spoiler alert: I'm just a little past the fight with the huge Orc leader, when the demons show up). I hope there are no insurmountable surprises waiting for me. Some people might find the regular auto-checkpoints or waves of monotonous-sounding (yet increasingly-powerful) enemies boring. Not me. See, as an "older" gentleman with a full-time job, exercise regimen, and a family, I like moderately SIMPLE games. This game is simple enough, has a compelling story, and doesn't make life too hard for me. ...

    Good overlooked Third person shooter.

    Actually a very fun pure action Third person Shooter game.Often overlooked during the generation it came out. You rally do feel like an over the tope space marine in this game.
