      I bought particular product hoping to elevate a chronic issue concerning flats. Albuquerque has more than its share of thorny objects seemingly at every turn, these tires have lived up to my expectations. I don’t mind the increased weight due to the fact I always make it out and back without incident. Definitely do recommend this product!

      Excellent touring tires

      I've been using the Gatorskin Hardshell tires for multiple cross country bike tours over the past few years. Flats are few and far between and I can easily get 5000+ miles out of these tires. Rolling resistance is acceptable and traction in wet conditions is good.

      Gator Hardshells

      Living in the desert of the great Southwest with "bullhead stickers", cacti, glass, and metal debris, having a good set of tough tires is essential. I've bought two sets of these tires. One for a 1980 27 x 1 1/4" Schwinn road bike, and one for a 1996 Cannondale 700 x 25c full Campagnolo road bike. Both sets can, and do, handle the rough conditions they were purchased for. They roll well, grip great, and I have no problem making the trade off of a few grams of extra weight for the peace of mind that I'll finish my rides without swapping tubes during my ride.

      Great tire to avoid flats!

      Great tire, replaced rear tire ~2yrs ago with the Hardshell and haven't had a flat since … front tire finally wore out so wanted to upgrade it to hardshell as well … great tires! A little bit hard to put on though … much tougher than any other tire I've installed.
