I bought this to replace a DMC-ZS9 that was pickpocketed on my last trip to the Eiffel Tower, Paris. At first, I was skeptical, since the reviews stressed the 'soft pictures', but after running over 400 pictures through it, I can say that for normal use, this is an excellent camera, well worth the money. The upgraded features are phenomenal. The picture softness will only affect the purist in the crowd. My only complaint so far is that I miss the slide "On-Off" switch of the ZS9. My chubby fingers means that I'm going to have to let at least one fingernail grow out so I can easily turn this camera on and off. The back controls, all being against black background, are a little harder to follow/see. I do miss the brushed aluminum buttons/controls of the ZS9. Writing to a 32Gb, class 10 card, seems a little slower than the ZS9, but that could be an illusion. The 'Panorama' feature is awesome, tho!!! Comparing the picture quality against my neighbor's ZS9, I can say that under the same conditions, this camera gives a better, albeit slightly softer, picture. Only at extreme magnification can you see any effect of the loss of details by the image smearing algorithm.Read full review
Great 20x zoom point and shoot camera. Excellent pictures. Easy to use. Apparent design flaw allows dust to get on to cameras internal sensor. Shows as small 2-3mm dark spot on screen and on photos. I purchased this and two other very similar Lumix models recently. Two of the three had dust on the sensor and had to be disassembled to blow/brush the dust off the sensors and back of the lens. Once reassembled seem to work perfectly. Great cameras; small design flaw. Ask about dust spots on screen before you buy this and other Lumix similarly designed cameras. Most sellers will not mention the dust spots showing up on the screens and pictures. There is much information on the Internet about this problem. If there is dust and you are not mechanically inclined to disassemble and reassemble a camera, do not buy these models. These comments do not apply to new in the box cameras.Read full review
I take a LOT of pictures for my job and have been using Panasonic Lumix cameras for a few years. I have several cameras, but the Panasonic is my favorite. It takes great pictures, has a great zoom, good size to carry, easy to use and very dependable.

This is a small light weight (0.426 lb.) camera that has most all features that the larger SLR cameras have. It is a 16.1 mega pixels camera with optical 20 x zoom lens. There are many more features that I don't have room to list here. The quality of pictures it takes is very crisp and professional looking. It will automatically make adjustments automatically, or you can set them manually. This is the best camera I have ever used, and I have used many over my life time.
Packed with functions. 20x optical / 40x digital zoom, 8x close p macro.
